Meet the Anti-American Mob behind the George Floyd Protests and Riots

What’s really driving the protests and riots roiling America?  To believe the mainstream media, it was the tragically unnecessary death of George Floyd.  Not surprisingly, that’s fake news.

The push to defund and disassemble police departments comes closer, but even that understates the mob mentality we’ve been witnessing.  The demands are so sweeping and vague, and the tactics so studied it’s clear that we’re facing anti-American mobs intent upon regime change.

Anarchists, Racists, and the Fooled

Today’s mobs are comprised of three groups: anarchists, racists, and the fooled.  The anarchists of Antifa are the most violent and least coherent.  Black Lives Matter is intent upon keeping racial structures in place, but inverting the order of privilege.  Many of them are articulate and persuasive and their goal is nothing short of revolution.

Which brings us thirdly to the fooled—the largest contingent of every mob.  These are the basically decent people who mean well, but have swallowed the mythology of systemic racism (particularly among the police). Many think they can support part of a cause without conferring authority on its leadership, or were simply bored out of their minds after months under COVID-inspired house arrest.

Roots of the Anti-American Mobs

In a recent Washington Times article, Daniel Pipes explains the philosophical roots of this anti-American movement, and shows how it incubated on college campuses over the span of six decades:

As financial theories at the heart of Marxism-Leninism collapsed, identity politics took their place. Culture replaced economics. Marcuse and Gramsci replaced Marx and Lenin; “Repressive Tolerance” replaced “Das Kapital.” Ethnicity replaced the class structure. Transgender rights replaced workers’ rights. White privilege replaced the bourgeoisie. Racism replaced imperialism. Palestinian victims replaced the Cuban paradise. Taking the knee replaced black power fists. Immigrants replaced the Third World. Safe spaces replaced sex. Local foods replaced drugs. Pride parades replaced rock ’n roll.

The left then had dreams, today’s has nightmares. That one had fun, this one suffers.

But this one also has a far greater reach in “the real world.” Democratic politicians and labor leaders resisted leftist pieties a half-century back and submit to them now….Western civilization is in play, threatened from within. Today’s deeply grounded movement could succeed in taking over; after all, it is doing just that through most of Europe.
